Tunnel #35 - Haaland's favourite hair tie brand
And street soccer is taking over the United States
As the World Cup approaches with growing anticipation, street soccer has become one of the key features in the United States, alongside initiatives linked to traditional eleven-a-side football. A blend of politics, brand marketing and competition, this form of football is spreading rapidly, offering insights into the potential future of football in the United States, even beyond the World Cup.
New York City’s newly elected mayor, Zohran Kwame Mamdani, has launched a special project called ‘Soccer Streets’, a travelling series of sports days that will visit 50 public schools across the city’s five boroughs in the lead-up to the World Cup. At each stop, the streets outside schools will be transformed into football pitches, art spaces and block party areas.
Therefore, initiatives like these open up new perspectives for younger generations by creating new social spaces where people can truly return to the streets and experience the relevance of sport. At the same time, this could also serve a second purpose: reshaping the way young Americans approach football. Rather than through expensive and exclusive academies, this approach would start on the streets, incorporating the spontaneity and technicality that has historically been missing from U.S. football, despite being present in the major sports for which the country is known.
In creating the new home kits for Juventus and Manchester United for the 2026/27 season, adidas opted for elegance and heritage. The same approach was taken for Mexico’s third jersey. We discovered Haaland’s brand of hair ties. MSCHF designed a stunning capsule for Vicenza. Brain Dead is UD Ibiza’s new official technical sponsor. Paris Saint-Germain has teamed up with Labubu. Como Women wore Napapijri’s anorak jackets during their last game.
Coppa Pizzeria is an anarchic football tournament set inside a maze made of hundreds of shipping containers. This unique event was conceived by Daniele Sigalot and is directed by Antonello Colaps. Here you can find the best photos of a dusty Neapolitan Sunday filled with warm beers and unlikely athletes..
Jannik Sinner’s aura is unlimited right now. He will not only remain the #1 in the ATP rankings for a long time, but he also forced Gucci to embrace his all-black style at the 2026 Italian Open by creating a brand new duffle bag.
The world’s largest collection of pennants is located in Rivoli, a city in the province of Turin, at the “Il Bisogno” restaurant. Pino Palese, an enthusiast, has managed to amass 20,000 unique items since 1975. Some are on display, while others are preserved and cataloged in a storeroom. We interviewed Palese to learn how one becomes a pennant collector and how he conducts his research.
Step aside, Heated Rivalry. Make way for the brand new sapphic football romcom starring Lola Tung. It’s called Ripe! Read on for everything you need to know about it.
